How is Greenway Jets different from other jetcard providers?
Greenway Jets is the new industry standard in private aviation. Unlike other JetCard providers, environmental responsibility is not an “add-on” to our service offerings. Customer participation is mandatory. Greenway Jets is one of the only companies to offset their client’s flights at no additional cost to the client.
Environmental responsibility will be on the highest level alongside safety.
Luxury and service are a given. Greenway Jets incorporates environmental
business practices in all facets of the organization, from our LEED certified
office space to employee incentives for hybrid vehicles and public transportation.
How do my flights impact global warming?
Global warming is caused by carbon dioxide and other gases that are collecting in Earth’s atmosphere. These pollutants “greenhouse gases” act like the glass walls of a greenhouse and block the heat from escaping. Sunlight shines through to the Earth’s surface where it is absorbed and then radiates back into the atmosphere as heat. In the atmosphere these pollutants trap some of this heat before it can pass through the atmosphere. Higher levels of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere cause more heat to be trapped leading to overall global warming/climate change.
Severe environmental consequences are predicted to occur if current rates of increases greenhouse gas levels continue. The United States is the largest source of global warming pollution. Americans make up 4% of the world’s population but the country produces a quarter of the world’s carbon dioxide pollution. The United States emits more carbon dioxide than China, India and Japan combined.
The UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change estimates that aviation causes 3.5 percent of global warming. This percentage is expected to rise to 15% by 205
How can my flights help offset global warming?
Greenway Jets has created a program to offset carbon emissions that will allow its private jet clients to exercise environmental responsibility while still enjoying the benefits of private jet travel. Greenway Jets will neutralize all carbon emissions created by the charter aircraft at no additional cost to our clients. All of the carbon emissions produced during each flight will be offset by a calculation of the aircraft’s CO2 emissions; these emissions would then be replaced by funding sanctioned offset projects. Greenway Jets is committed to effecting environmental change by funding projects that promote renewable energy and energy conservation.
What are carbon offsets?
A financial instrument representing a reduction in greenhouse gasses. Carbon offsets are measured in metric tons of CO2 equivalent. One carbon offset represents the reduction of one metric ton of CO2 or its equivalent in other greenhouse gasses.
What is renewable energy?
It is energy generated from natural resources, such as sunlight, wind, rain, tides & geothermal heat. These resources are naturally replenished.
What types of projects will the carbon offsets fund?
The carbon offsets from Greenway Jets’ flights currently fund methane capture and wind distribution projects
What is methane capture?
Methane is 21 times more efficient than carbon dioxide, the most common
greenhouse gas, at trapping heat near the Earth. On farms, methane digesters
process animal waste to accelerate decomposition and capture methane which
the farms then burn to produce electricity. This reduces the use of fossil
fuels for the farm’s own energy needs and provides an additional revenue
stream for the farm when the electricity is sold to the local power grid.
What is wind distribution and is it a realistic source of electricity?
Yes, there is enough wind energy potential in the Great Plains to power the entire country, and then some. Wind is free, but the cost of building turbines still remains high due to the fact that wind farms are not as heavily subsidized as fossil fuel production. Native Energy’s “help build” model is so important, because it helps subsidize the implementation cost, by providing up-front funding that gets the projects built.
When I fly on Greenway Jets do I have to offset my carbon emissions?
Yes. We provide carbon offsets on every Greenway Jet’s flight at
no cost to you.
What types of aircraft are available?
Greenway Jets clients’ enjoy access to over 5,500 aircraft including light, mid-size, super-mid size, heavy and executive jets. We also offer turbo-props and piston props.
How can I pay for my charter flight?
Prepayment is required for all private charter flights. Clients may choose to pay by American Express, Bank Wire, or Bank Draft. Clients may also choose to hold a flight by using credit card authorization and pay via bank wire or bank draft at a specified time.
Can I travel with a pet?
Pets are allowed on some aircraft but not on others. If traveling with your pet is a priority, Greenway Jets will be happy to provide an aircraft that will accommodate you and your pet upon request.
How does the Greenway JetCard program work?
Greenway JetCard Membership allows clients to create an account by depositing funds in increments of 100k, 250k, and 500k. The account acts like a debit card for private flights and entitles members to exclusive benefits, such as guaranteed one-way pricing and free aircraft upgrades.
What are the advantages of a JetCard vs. on-demand charter?
Greenway JetCard clients are guaranteed availability and only charged enplaned flight hours, not for repositioning of the aircraft. Our professional, personal concierge will constantly update your preferences and provide you with service beyond compare.
Where can you travel on a Greenway JetCard?
With a Greenway JetCard you can travel the continental United States and
destinations within 200 miles of the U.S. border. For flights beyond the
contracted service area, trips will be quoted on a trip by trip basis, however
JetCard funds can be applied.
How many airports can Greenway Jets fly into?
Flying private provides access to over 5,000 airports in the United States, compared to the 550 airports that commercial carriers can access.
Do I have access to different jet sizes depending upon my needs?
One of the advantages of being a Greenway JetCard client is the unparalleled flexibility made available to you. We operate 24 hours a day 365 days a year to assist you choosing the right jet for your needs.
How does a Greenway JetCard compare to fractional ownership?
The Greenway JetCard offers the same flexibility and guaranteed availability of fractional ownership without the upfront investment, long term commitment, restriction to one aircraft or contending with co-owners.
What is Greenway Jets commitment to safety?
A carefully selected network of air carriers that operate all Greenway Jets flights meet and exceed the stringent standards set forth by the Federal Aviation Administration FAR Part 135. These standards are substantially higher than the Part 91 rules that apply to fractional aircraft.
